This policy covers unfairadvantage.fi, the Hurskainen & Co. website operated by Unfair Advantage OÜ. The company is the controller responsible for the personal information described here.

Information we use and why

Delivering and protecting the website

Our hosting, content delivery and security provider, Cloudflare, handles the information needed to respond to a request: IP address, requested address, time, browser and device information, connection details and security signals. This allows pages to load, encrypted connections to work, and abuse to be detected. Operational traffic statistics can also be derived from these requests.

Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). These essential operations continue if you decline optional analytics. We do not use them to build advertising profiles.

Messages you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address, any name or contact details you provide, the contents of your message and any attachments. We use this information to answer your enquiry and manage the resulting business conversation. Please only send information relevant to your enquiry.

We rely on our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries, or on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract where applicable (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Legal obligations may require us to retain records associated with an eventual contract. Simply browsing this site does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

Remembering your privacy choice

We store your analytics decision in your browser so that we can honour it. The record includes your decision, the time, expiry date and the version of the choices presented. It is used for privacy preferences, not for recognising you across other websites. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in respecting and demonstrating your choice.

Optional analytics and your choice

Optional analytics help us understand which pages are useful and whether the website loads and responds well. We ask for your consent before loading these tools (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). The same choice applies worldwide, including the EU, EEA and UK.

Choose Accept analytics to allow the tools listed as active below, or Decline analytics to keep them off. Neither scrolling nor continuing to browse counts as consent. Both choices allow you to use the website.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

Active only with your consent. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views, referring pages, browser and device categories, approximate country and page performance, including loading, responsiveness and visual stability. It uses browser performance information without analytics cookies or persistent visitor identifiers. Cloudflare states that it does not fingerprint visitors and discards the source IP address at its nearest data centre for this analytics service.

Google Analytics 4

Active only with your consent. Google Analytics measures visits and page use with first-party cookies and pseudonymous browser identifiers. It receives page addresses, browser and device information, approximate location and interaction information. Google processes IP addresses to derive location but states that GA4 does not log or store them. Our integration disables advertising consent, Google signals and advertising personalisation. Enhanced measurement is off: we do not automatically collect scrolling, outbound-link clicks, form interactions, site searches, downloads or video events.

The connected web stream is UA for unfairadvantage.fi, with measurement ID G-ZYS6178BCF. We remove query strings and fragments from the page addresses sent by our integration, and limit the referrer to its website origin. We do not send visitors' names, email addresses or message contents to Google Analytics. Optional account data-sharing settings are disabled.

Our Google Analytics integration is designed to wait for acceptance before contacting Google, including for measurements without cookies. Advertising permissions remain off. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Changing your mind

Open Privacy choices in the footer at any time. SelectDecline analytics to withdraw consent. We stop optional analytics, remove Google Analytics cookies accessible to this site if present, and reload the page to stop already-loaded analytics code. Withdrawal does not affect processing that lawfully took place beforehand or automatically remove previously aggregated statistics.

Your choice applies to this browser. Other browsers or devices need their own choice. If browser storage is blocked, optional analytics stay off. You may be asked again after the preference expires, browser data is cleared, or the tools or purposes change.

Privacy preference — necessary

ua-analytics-consent is a local-storage entry on this site's origin. We honour it for 180 days from your choice; an expired entry is removed when the site next checks it. Local storage is not automatically attached to ordinary web requests.

Cloudflare Web Analytics — optional

No analytics cookies or persistent local-storage identifiers are used by Cloudflare Web Analytics.

Google Analytics cookies — optional

_ga and _ga_* can distinguish browsers and maintain analytics session state when Google Analytics is connected and accepted. Our integration limits cookie expiry to 180 days and does not extend it on each visit.

Cloudflare may use strictly necessary security cookies when a security challenge or protection feature requires them. These serve website security, not optional audience analytics. See Cloudflare's security-cookie documentation for the functions and durations of cookies its protections may use.

Service providers and international transfers

Cloudflare supplies DNS, hosting, content delivery, security and, where accepted, Web Analytics. Google supplies Gmail for messages sent to our contact address. Google Analytics is a separate service and its activation status is stated above. Our domain registrar, Domainhotelli, manages the domain registration; it does not host this website or receive an analytics feed from it.

Google Search Console provides us with search-performance and indexing reports. It does not add a visitor-tracking script to this site. Our publishing tools run outside the public website. Fonts, article images and other site assets are served with the website; merely reading an article does not load a social-media embed.

These providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside the EU or EEA, including in the United States. Cloudflare and Google rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for eligible transfers to their certified US entities. For transfers not covered by an applicable adequacy decision, their data-processing terms provide the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the relevant UK safeguards where required. Access to enquiry information is limited to people who need it to respond or provide the requested service, and relevant service providers. We may disclose information where the law requires it or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell your personal information.

External links take you to independently operated websites. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

How long information is kept

We honour browser privacy choices for 180 days. You can change the choice sooner or clear it through your browser.

We keep enquiry correspondence while needed to answer the enquiry and manage any resulting relationship. After that, we retain it only where a legal record-keeping obligation or an identifiable need to establish, exercise or defend a claim applies. The applicable obligation or claim period determines that retention.

Cloudflare's operational and security retention depends on the service, the data and any incident under investigation. Cloudflare's published privacy information describes those criteria. Web Analytics reports are aggregated; we do not maintain a separate visitor-level analytics database. Removing consent stops future optional collection but cannot identify your contribution in anonymous aggregate reports.

Google Analytics user-level and event-level retention is set to two months. We have disabled the option that resets user-data retention when a visitor returns. This setting does not apply to standard aggregated reports, which may remain available longer. Changes to Google's retention settings can take 24 hours to take effect.

Your rights and how to contact us

Depending on the information and legal basis, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, or a portable copy of information you provided. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent at any time. We do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about visitors through automated profiling.

Send requests or questions to unfairadvantage.ee@gmail.com. We may ask for proportionate information to verify a request. We normally respond within one month; if a lawful extension is necessary, we will explain it. We will not collect extra identifying information solely to re-identify anonymous analytics.

You may complain to a data-protection authority in your place of residence, work, or the place of an alleged infringement. In Estonia, contact the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon). In Finland, contact the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman; cookie and similar-technology matters are supervised by Traficom.

Updates to this policy

We update this page when our practices change and show the date above. Material changes to optional analytics tools or purposes require a fresh choice before the changed analytics starts.
